Charlie Stein’s work (Berlin, 1986) moves between image, body, and machine. A multidisciplinary artist, writer, and cultural theorist, her artistic practice sits at the intersection of contemporary art, technology, and critical theory. Her works, ranging from painting to installation, from text to AI-supported collaborations, address themes such as embodiment, intimacy, digital surrealism, and digital aesthetics. With her background in sociology and fine arts, Stein explores transitions between physical and virtual space, between craft and machine, and between individual and systemic structures. She has been artist-in-residence at ISCP New York and CCA Andratx in Mallorca, has exhibited at CalArts Los Angeles, Pratt Institute New York, and in exhibitions in Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Berlin. Her solo exhibition ‘The Real Thing’ is currently on view at CCA Andratx gallery in Mallorca until December 12.
