Massimiliano Zaffino’s works stage an “investigation into the relationship between imagery and imagination as the source of an assemblage of forms, colors, and lights that coagulate and crystallize into a disturbing figuration, which explores the” effect of temporality and spatiality on our perception. The effects of time and space on the present shape a potential reality, which uses common elements and landscape to investigate our shared condition of existential suspension that coalesces into iconic forms of our contemporaneity. This figurative realism alludes to a plural reality in which possibility and necessity coexist simultaneously, compressing onto the present the possible worlds we could have inhabited or will inhabit. The present thus expands to become the space of infinite possibilities of our existence.
